"Sincerely Beautiful" Theme

Overview: Do you see beauty in others but flaws in yourself? Do you measure your success against the success of others and feel inferior? As women, we often struggle to feel sincerely beautiful, but you are a unique creation designed by the creator for a special purpose. Discover how God’s design includes every piece of you – the hurt, the broken, the abused, the mistakes, the pain, the past, the present and the future! In Him, you are sincerely beautiful!

Story: The Designer's Gift

With the announcement of his son's wedding, Liam, a world-renowned designer of fine fabrics, left retirement to craft a bridal gown for his son's bride. After an exhaustive search, the priceless materials he created years earlier for this special dress were found torn to pieces in a bin of tattered scraps. The Designer's Gift is a story that parallels God's story for you. Have you ever felt tattered and broken? Have you made choices you wish you could hide? Do you wonder what God thinks of you? The Designer's Gift unlocks the answers to those questions and more.

Message 1: Defeating Satan’s Lies of the Past, Present and Future
Theme: Isaiah 58 and The Designer’s Gift*
Often, as women, we compare ourselves to others or ideals rather than placing our worth in the design of the Creator. Satan has a counterfeit for God’s plan for your life. His counterfeit is close to God’s design but is designed to destroy you. Even if you have made a mess of your past, through surrender, God has a plan to restore your beauty.

Message 2: Faith in Action!
Theme: God’s Word and Prayer!
Mark 5:25-34 Holding Tightly to Truth
God’s truths will never change. He gave us His Word and prayer as gifts that will keep our focus on Him. The woman who was bleeding for 12 years knew the Word and her faith in the Word caused Jesus to answer her request. In looking at the Old Testament, we will see that the act of grabbing the hem of Jesus was much more intentional than it appears.

Message 3:
The Beautiful Bride

Theme: Jewish Wedding Customs
In The Designer’s Gift we established the idea of the church being the bride of Christ. This session looks at Qive customs of first century Jewish weddings and compares those customs with the words of Jesus. Only in understanding the customs of that time can we begin to grasp how great is the love of God for us and how sincerely beautiful He sees us!

Message Activity: Flower Making

Theme: Restoration and Beauty
This option happens after the above teaching time. At the end of the teaching session, a description about how each petal of the flower represents the different layers of each woman’s life. The hole in the center of the flower represents the holes that Jesus took in His hands and feet so that each of us can experience restoration. A beautiful gem is placed in the center of the flower representing the beauty that God brings to our lives when we surrender each layer to Him. This option gives each woman a memorable experience and a tangible reminder of the Biblical teaching of her beauty. Read the Flower Story
