"So Be It Theme"

Overview: Often we find ourselves feeling trapped by routine, or busyness, or the mundane. We strive for control, until without warning, things are a mess. How do we get to this point, and even more importantly, how do we get out of it?

Story

For So Be It Wendy has written a 3-part story about Princess Beatrice- or “Bea"- an adopted princess learns about her Position, Perspective, Purpose in her Father’s kingdom. Like many of us, she is held back by obstacles of fear and frustration. She finds out that she must learn to bravely face these obstacles, humbly submit to the teacher her Father appointed to share His words, and bravely step into who He made her to be, declaring "So Be It." Each of the three parts of this story correspond to the three messages Wendy presents that the the theme together.

Message #1 Position: Understanding Your Position in the Kingdom of God

Princess Beatrice lives the life of a princess, but finds herself “stuck and frustrated.” Often in life, we too, experience these confusing emotions. We forget or misunderstand our position and the result is frustrating. In my home, there are three princesses (a.k.a. my daughters). Each girl has the same position of daughter, but the way that they understand and live out their position is individually up to them. The same is true of our life as the daughter of the King of Kings. In this message we look closely at how our understanding of our position changes the way that we respond to the love and grace of God.

Message #2 Perspective: Choosing the Right Perspective of the Kingdom of God

Once we truly understand our POSITION, we must make sure that we have the right Perspective. By having the right perspective, we establish the most important things in life and strive to accomplish those things. This becomes the our life mission. Being on mission means that you let go of what you see, and give the control of what you see to God. You start to look at situations through a new lens...through new eyes...His eyes. In this message, we address the struggle of over-commitment with which most women struggle and look at Biblical ways to overcome this struggle.

Message #3 Purpose: Living With Purpose for the Kingdom of God

Surrender is hard, which is why it is the bravest thing that you can do! Surrender is not natural; it is Super-Natural! We often try to surrender in our own strength and get discouraged because of many failures, but God provides help. Understanding and choosing God’s help allows even the toughest of struggles to be overcome so that we can live lives of purpose for the Kingdom of God.

Surrender says, “I give you complete control, for you know better what I need than I do.” There is no one that knows you better than your creator. He knows your past, present and future. Allowing His control means trusting Him in every detail, even when the details seem not to make sense. IF you can trust God in this way, THEN you can say with John Wesley, “SO BE IT!”

The Wesleyan Prayer

By John Wesley
I am no longer my own, but yours.
Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering;
let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you, exalted for you, or brought low for you;
let me be full, let me be empty,
let me have all things, let me have nothing:
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours. SO BE IT.
